EDC is established to inculcate ‘Entrepreneurial Culture’ amongst its youth and equip them with skills to act as job creators instead of being job seekers in future. The key aim of the cell would be to foster entrepreneurship amongst the students of the college for generation of employment opportunities and creation of wealth.

Entrepreneurship Development Cell

Entrepreneurship Development Cell of the college provided a golden opportunity to students for converting their business idea into a reality. Business proposal were invited from students of all streams of the college and it was proposed that the best team would be provided financial assistance for their Start-up. Two teams one consisting of three members and other consisting of five members  respectively had submitted their business proposals. Both the teams were given a chance to pitch their ideas in front of members of EDC in form of a Power Point Presentation. On 26-Aug-2019, both the teams made a presentation and suggestions were given to both the teams for improving their proposals.
Under the guidance of EDC two teams of the college had submitted their proposals in Kurukshetra University Technical Innovation Competition (KUTIC) in Sept-2019 and both the teams presented their idea in the month of Oct-2019. One of the teams consisting of three students Ajay Chauhan (B.Sc. IT II), Vishal Saini (B.Sc. IT II) and Rajat Kumar (B.Sc. IT II), who had submitted a proposal on “Home appliance Control using Speech Recognition” got shortlisted at KUTIC. After the presentation, the team got a grant of Project Expenditure up-to Rs. 50,000. The team successfully completed the project and submitted their Project Report on 15-Feb-2020.
The EDC had also organised A National Level Awareness Programme (NLAP-2020) in collaboration with Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) on 20-Feb-2020 to equip the students with various schemes being offered by Khadi and Village Industries Commission. More than one hundred students of different streams had actively participated in such event. Sh. Yashpal Singh, State Director, KVIC and Dr. Rajinder Singh, Principal, Sanatan Dharma College had motivated the participants for coming up with great ideas and for making effort in converting their business into reality. Further, Dr. Amit Chopra, Senior Consultant showed a couple of videos on NLAP to students to make them understand the scope of growth of MSMEs and the different types of financial support available for entrepreneurs. To provide more food for thought, Sh. Arun Kumar, Assistant Director, KVIC discussed about Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP). He discussed the eligibility criteria and the documents required for applying for loan under PMEGP. Some focus was also drawn upon the maximum amount of funds granted and the benefits provided to women for setting up a business. The entire event was an eye opener for young and enthusiastic participants of the college.

The Entrepreneurship Development Cell organized “First Boot Camp” on 27-Feb-2019. Mr. Pradeep Prem, Mentor, Start-Up Haryana acted as resource person. 481 students participated in this contest. The association organized Two Day Workshop on “Skill Development and Beauty Care” in association with Lakme Academy, Ambala on  05 & 06-Mar-2019. 88 members of the association actively participated in it.
