The College has a state-of-the-art library, equipped with most modern facilities and infrastructure. The library has a rich collection of books and other reading materials in print and electronic format. Present collection of books is more than 61000 besides the 12000+ textbooks in Book Bank and subscription to 80 journals & magazines and 23 newspapers in different languages and old volumes of periodicals. The library has subscribed a large number of e-resources and facilitates the access to its users through the E-Resource Center setup within its premises. The E-Resource Center has 40 computers with Wi-Fi Internet connectivity and two 6 KVA online UPS to provide uninterrupted power supply. In addition to the above library facilitate access to various Open Educational E-Resources like NDLI, E-PG Pathshala, DOAJ, CEC, SWAYAM, NPTEL and Spoken Tutorials etc. A digital archive of university examination question papers and newspaper clippings has also been developed. The library is fully automated with the application of cloud based reputed open source LMS ‘KOHA’. The Web-OPAC enables the users to access the library database anywhere anytime. Two touch screen e-Kiosks have been installed in the library for OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue). A Digital Display Screen/Stand has been installed to aware the library users about various activities and the new arrivals of documents in the library. The Library also provides training and apprenticeship to the students of Library & Information Science Courses. The library has a seating capacity of around 300 readers at a time. The reading rooms of the library are air-conditioned and fitted with LED lights to provide a more congenial atmosphere to the readers. The faculty lounge in the library provides the teachers comfortable seating and reading facility. The well stocked Reference Room with the latest reference sources facilitates the teachers to undertake various research projects. Library has open access system that allows the students an easy access to the books and other reading materials housed in the library. A very attractive Wall Mounting Shelving System has also been adopted in the library to create more storage and reading space. All the books are organized on the shelves in the classified order of Dewey decimal classification Scheme. Well qualified and professionally trained staff has been deputed to provide reference and bibliographical services to the users. Computational, printing and Xerox facilities are also available for the users. 17 IP CC TV cameras have been installed in the library to have a more effective surveillance system. Following are the Library rules:

  • 1. Library books are issued to every student on Library Tickets. The number of books which a student can borrow is as under:
    • PG Classes: Five
    • UG Classes: Three
  • 2. Meritorious students are allowed to get as many books issued from the Library as are recommended by the tutor/HOD.
  • 3. Any loss of books should be immediately reported to the Librarian and the matter be settled within 10 days by either replacing the books or by paying double the price of the book.
  • 4. Books will be issued for a period of 14 days (books which are in greater demand may be issued for 7 days). Delay will entail a fine of Rs. 5/- per day.
  • 5. Student on leave must arrange for the return of books in time.
  • 6. Books issued from the library must be kept very carefully and in no case be underlined or disfigured. If the book is already damaged in any form, it should be brought to the notice of the Librarian before getting the book issued, otherwise, the person who returns the book will be held responsible for the damage.
  • 7. Reference books, rare books and periodicals shall not be issued except for consultation in the Library premises.
  • 8. Text books from the reference section will be issued for overnight use only. The rate of overdue charge for such books will be Rs. 10/- per day.
  • 9. If a Library ticket is lost, duplicate ticket will be issued on payment of Rs. 200/-. But the original holder of the ticket shall be held responsible for all the books drawn on it.
  • 10. Students must carry their Identity Card with them whenever they enter the College Library. They can be refused admission to the library or can be turned out of the Library if they fail to produce their Identity Card on demand.
  • 11. If an Identity Card is lost by any student a duplicate will be issued on payment of Rs. 200/-
  • 12. Students are expected to read the Notice issued from time to time by the Principal/Librarian. No excuse will be entertained for ignorance.
  • 13. Students are expected to observe perfect silence in the Reading Room and not disturb others in any way.
